Miguel Feat. J. Cole All I want is you

Fire!!!

What a great duo these to make on this song. J. Cole always comes with that fire and Miguel just made a melodic tone to ride the beat (No Homo). The anticipation for J. Coles album is ridiculous for me, I haven’t been this excited for a album since either the Marshall Mathers LP or Dre’s Chronic 2001. Anyway enjoy the song and just ride out to it.

Definition of Love

I asked this question a long time before on myspace and I just wanted to get peoples input 5 years later.

What is your definition of love?

Here was my answer 5 years ago. Love is somewhat like a warm blanquet in the winter time it sucks when you dont have it and fight to have it in your hands once you have got it. Love is a combinding devotion, and characteristic that 2 people show towards one another whether it be your sister, brother, bestfriend, Mom, Dad, girlfriend, wife etc. etc. Here is the real question how do you know your in love, is it this feeling you get like butter flies everytime you talk to them, is love a action, is it a act upon something. What is it? Being in love is one of the most rewarding things a person can go through in life in my opinion I cannot speak for everyone but I can speak for myself. I dont know I just thought that was interesting and wanted to share with everyone.

Born Hip Hop Music Video *BTS*

I shot a music video for the first time this past weekend and it is a bit challenging as a 1 man operation but thankfully my nephew was able to assist me. We shot the video in Downtown LA next to the 6th street bridge where many movies, tv shows, and music videos have been shot. Here are a few stills from the shoot.

Carbon Fiber Vinyl Lens Hood

Lately I have been looking at my Canon “L” lenses and a bit bored with the matte black so I decided to take it to another level. I purchased a 12″x12″ carbon fiber vinyl on ebay for $10 and I received it in 2 days since I am local to the wholesaler. The process wasn’t very hard but it wasnt easy.
First, you take your CF vinyl and measure it up to the lens hood to see how much needs to be cut.

I had to cut the pieces in half to get everything to fit correctly

Once you place the vinyl on the lens hood do not place it fully on so you can heat it up and stretch everything accordingly. The best advice I can give on getting the bubbles out is use a squeegee and pull the vinyl tight. Once you are done it should look very similar to this

Rhys Millen Pikes Peak Attempt shot on a 5D

Rhys Millen a well known rally driver and drifter attempted to break his dads record at the well known Pikes Peak in Colorado. As much as I am a fan of motorsports I am a huge fan on the Canon 5D MKII and the 5D was used in Rhys’s attempt. I give it a few more months that more people in the industry catch on to the capabilities of the 5D and I think we will see more work being shot with it.

Pelican Case

Since I have been getting into video I have been collecting alot more equipment and no way to carry it efficiently so I took measures. I went on ebay and found this Pelican 1560 case with foam inserts to carry about my Jag35 Shoulder rig and also the Secondary Cage. I ordered the case on thursday and it showed up at my doorstep a day later with ground shipping. Once I received it I immediately starting taking out the foam inserts to accommodate all of my shoulder rig gear and accessories. Everything took about an hour to configure and makes things alot simpler to carry and transport around especially since it has wheels. Here are some before and after pictures of the setup.

Lebron James Leaving Cleveland

I had to take this discussion off of twitter because It was just gonna be too long and I know all you Lakers fans always try to justify your reasons.
So as I was saying, Kobe did the same thing years ago and failed at it. Lebron, Wade, and Bosh may have a championship but not in the first year I think. If you look back at what Kobe and the Lakers tried to do in the past it didn’t work immediately. Take for example: Lakers picked up Karl Malone from the Jazz and Gary Payton to try and win a championship.

Karl Malone:
Second-leading scorer in NBA history and considered perhaps the greatest power forward ever, signed a 2-year deal worth about $3.2 million.
Gary Payton:
One of the finest NBA point guards, signed a two-year contract worth $10.4 million.

Both can opt out after the first season. * Both accepted big paycuts from their salaries (Malone earned $20 million last season and Payton $12) for the chance to win a championship. * Payton and the Sonics played in the NBA Finals once and Malone with his Jazz did it twice. But every time they had the bad luck to face Michael Jordan in his prime. * Magic Johnson gave the Mailman his permission to wear his retired No. 32. Malone wore No. 32 for 18 seasons in Utah, but, as a sign of respect will use another number.

More additions:
Horace Grant 38 years old and 16-year veteran who was member of the Lakers 2001 title team, will be Karl Malone’s backup at power forward. He also was a member of the Bulls’ championship teams in 1991, ’92 and ’93.
Bryon Russell 32 years old free agent guard from the Wizards

Looking at the facts how is Lebron James any different than Kobe chasing after a championship? Yes Lebron had a hour long special on his decision which was childish and self centered but he is a man of passion and wants to win a Championship. 1 person can only do so much and with a arsenal of players around him he may get the championship every sports player dreams of. Malone, Bryant, Payton, O’neil, Grant were considered a Dream and Malone and Payton were on the Dream Team in the Olympics.
To make things fair Kobe and the Lakers aren’t the only ones to make big moves to win a championship, years ago the Celtics did the same thing aquiring Garnett and Allen.

If any of you know me I am a Bulls fan through thick and thin and would have loved to have Lebron, but it wasn’t a good fit for him in his eyes. Personally the 10-11 season is going to be exciting for the East since the Lakers will dominate the West after all the trades the Suns, and Utah made.
